Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 October 2026
ACQRD is a place for collectors to show, trade and sell items. Members deal with each other directly; ACQRD provides the tools, fees and safety features described here.
ACQRD is operated by Callum Beach, trading as Acquired Collectables (ABN 16 852 923 612) ("ACQRD", "we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use ACQRD
- You must be 18 or older and able to make a binding agreement. People under 18 can't have an account.
- One account per person. Keep your password safe; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Your account is just for you. Don't sell, give away or share your account, username or ratings, or let anyone else sign in to it.
- Give accurate information, including, for stores, your ABN.
2. Listing items
- Only list items you own, have the right to sell or trade, and can hand over.
- Describe them honestly: condition, grade, set, edition and any damage, with real photos of the actual item.
- Every item needs a value, so others can judge a fair price or trade.
- You own your photos and listings. You let ACQRD show them in the app and in ACQRD's promotion of your listings while they're listed.
- Where listings appear: listings are shown newest first, or to match the search and filters you choose. Boosted listings always appear at the top, whatever view, search, filter or sort you use (including price sorts), and the rest follow in the order you chose. Boosted listings always carry a Boosted tag, so you can tell which listings paid or used a boost to be there.
3. Banned items
You must not list, sell or trade:
- counterfeit, fake, proxy or reprinted items presented as genuine;
- stolen items;
- weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, recalled or unsafe products, or anything illegal to sell in Australia;
- offensive or adult content;
- raffles, lotteries, paid giveaways, mystery boxes or "breaks" (selling spots in a pack or box opening). Sealed, factory-made products such as booster packs are fine.
Brand and rights owners: if you own a brand, trade mark or copyright and believe a listing on ACQRD is fake or infringes your rights, email support@acqrd.com.au with the listing and the details of your rights. We'll look into it and remove listings that break these terms, and we close the accounts of members who repeatedly list fakes.
4. Trades
- When both people tap Accept, the trade is agreed. The items are set aside and contact details unlock.
- After you meet up and swap, both tap Trade done. A trade only completes when you both agree. If you've said done and the other person never answers, you can withdraw from the trade (except for Safe Trade).
- If it didn't happen, tap It didn't happen and tell us why. If you give different answers, ACQRD looks into it and decides.
- Only trades completed in ACQRD count towards ratings, Top Trader, badges and Partner Store totals.
5. Membership and fees
| Plan | Price | Selling fee | Trade fee | Free boosts | ACQRD Lens scans |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze · Casual | Free | 8% | A$3 | - | 5 / month |
| Silver · Collector | A$7.99 / month | 6% | A$2 | - | 30 / month |
| Gold · Trader | A$14.99 / month | 5% | None | 3 / month | 75 / month |
| VendorPRO (Platinum) | A$49.99 / month | 3% | None | 10 / month | 75 / month |
- Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where it applies. We'll give you notice before a price changes.
- Selling fee: charged to the seller as a percentage of the sale price, with a minimum of A$0.50 per sale. Welcome deal: your first 3 sales only pay A$0.50, whatever the price.
- Trade fee: charged when both people accept a trade. It's refunded only if your trade partner cancels or doesn't show up. If you cancel or don't show, it isn't.
- Memberships renew monthly until you cancel. Memberships bought in the app are billed and cancelled through Apple or Google; memberships bought on our website are billed through Stripe and cancelled in Settings. When you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the month you've paid for. We don't refund part-months, but nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. ACQRD Lens
ACQRD Lens fills in an item's details from a photo or barcode. Each plan includes the scans shown above; they reset on the 1st of each month (Melbourne time) and unused scans don't carry over. Adding items yourself is always free and unlimited. VendorPRO members can add Lens Pro: an extra 300 scans a month for A$19.99 / month. Lens suggestions can be wrong: you're responsible for checking every detail, especially condition, before you list.
7. Sales, postage and problems
A sale is a real agreement
- When a buyer pays for a listing, the buyer and seller have made a binding agreement with each other. The seller must post the item as described, and the buyer can't back out because they changed their mind.
- ACQRD isn't the buyer or the seller. If the other member breaks the deal, our problem process below is there to help; any other legal claim is between you and them.
- Deals arranged outside ACQRD aren't covered by ratings, Safe Trade or this problem process.
Paying and getting paid
- Buyers pay through ACQRD using Stripe. Stripe holds the money until the sale is finished; ACQRD never holds it.
- Sellers must pass Stripe's identity check before they can be paid.
- Sellers are paid when the buyer taps Item arrived, or 3 days after tracking shows the item was delivered, if the buyer hasn't reported a problem.
Postage
- The seller sets the postage price in the listing, or offers free postage. The buyer pays it at checkout.
- The seller must post within 3 business days of payment, using tracked post. Items sold for more than A$100 must be sent with signature on delivery.
- The item is the seller's responsibility until tracking shows it was delivered to the buyer's address, so pack it properly (for example sleeves, top loaders, and a sturdy box or mailer).
When something goes wrong
- Not received: if the seller hasn't posted within 3 business days, or tracking doesn't show the item delivered within 14 days of posting, the buyer can report it in the app. If the seller can't show tracked delivery (with a signature for items over A$100), the buyer gets a full refund, including postage.
- Not as described: the buyer must report it within 3 days of delivery, with photos. If we agree, the buyer sends the item back using a return label the seller pays for, and gets a full refund, including the original postage, once the item is back with the seller. Sometimes we may decide a return isn't needed.
- We look at the evidence from both members (photos, chat and tracking) and decide. Either member can ask us to look again once, with new evidence. You keep your rights under the law, and you can still contact Consumer Affairs Victoria or your local consumer agency.
Refunds come from the sale money
- By selling on ACQRD, you agree that if we decide a problem in the buyer's favour, we can tell Stripe to refund the buyer from that sale's money. If you've already been paid, we can take the amount from your future payouts, or ask you to pay it back.
- If a sale is refunded in full, we refund our selling fee too, unless the seller broke these terms (for example, by selling a fake).
Tax
- You're responsible for any tax on your own sales and trades, such as income tax or GST if you're registered. If you're unsure, check with the Australian Taxation Office (ato.gov.au).
8. Once a deal is done, it's done
- A sale is finished when the buyer taps Item arrived, or when the 3-day reporting window after delivery ends with no report. A trade is finished when both members tap Trade done.
- A finished deal is final. There are no change-of-mind returns or swapping back. If both members want to undo it, they need to agree a new sale or trade.
- The exception is an open investigation. If someone reports a fake item, a scam, a switched item or other foul play within 7 days of the deal finishing, we investigate, and the deal isn't final until we've finished. We may hold payouts while we look into it.
- After 7 days, we'll only review a report if there are special circumstances, for example a fake that couldn't reasonably have been spotted sooner, or a member who was seriously unwell or away. We decide whether special circumstances apply. This doesn't stop anyone reporting a crime to the police or Scamwatch (scamwatch.gov.au).
- Stores and other businesses selling on ACQRD must still meet their obligations under the Australian Consumer Law, for example for faulty items.
9. Safe Trade
Safe Trade is optional. Both members post their items to an ACQRD hub; we check the items match the agreed deal, then send them on, or return them if they don't match. Safe Trade checks that items match the deal; it isn't a guarantee that an item is genuine, and it isn't a grading service. It costs A$19.99 on Bronze, A$14.99 on Silver and A$9.99 on Gold and VendorPRO, per person, per trade. At first, it's only available when both members are in Victoria. The exact rules are shown before you choose it.
10. Meeting in person
Meeting in person is your choice and at your own risk. Meet in a public place, ideally a Safe Meet Spot, and check items before you swap. Safe Meet Spots and Partner Stores are independent shops that have agreed to host trades; they aren't part of ACQRD and aren't responsible for the items or the people you trade with. Never share passwords or bank logins. If something feels wrong, don't go ahead, and report it in the app.
11. How to behave
- No scams, harassment, hate or threats.
- No fake ratings or fake accounts. Ratings must reflect a real trade or sale; ACQRD never adds ratings automatically.
- No fake item values or fake offers. Don't set false values, or make offers you don't mean, to push prices or trade values up or down.
- Don't try to move deals outside ACQRD to avoid fees.
- Don't post other people's personal details.
- Other members' details are only for the deal. When a trade or sale unlocks someone's contact details, use them only to finish that deal. Don't add members to mailing lists, market to them, or pass their details on.
- No bots, scraping or hacking. Don't copy listings or member information in bulk, use automated tools to access ACQRD, send spam, or try to interfere with or get around how the app works.
You can report and block members in the app. We may remove content, hold payouts while a report is checked, remove badges whose rules stop being met, and limit or close accounts that break these terms.
12. Our responsibility
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
- Members trade with each other directly. Except for the checks we do through Safe Trade, we don't own, inspect or hold the items, and we aren't a party to the deal between members. To the extent the law allows, ACQRD isn't responsible for the condition, authenticity or delivery of items, or for what happens at meetups.
- Other members' actions: each member is responsible for what they list, say and do. To the extent the law allows, ACQRD isn't responsible for loss caused by another member, a Safe Meet Spot or anyone else outside ACQRD, including their listings, messages, items, payments or behaviour, unless we caused or contributed to that loss.
- We check reports and remove content and accounts that break these terms, but we can't check everything members post, and we don't promise that every member, listing or item is genuine or safe.
- We work hard to keep ACQRD running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may need to pause it for maintenance, and we may change or stop features over time. We'll give notice of big changes where we can.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid ACQRD in the 12 months before the claim.
13. Closing your account
You can delete your account any time in Settings: see Delete your account. Open trades and sales must be finished or cancelled first. We may close an account that breaks these terms.
14. Problems, changes and law
- If something goes wrong, email us first; we'll try to sort it out within 30 days.
- We'll give you at least 30 days' notice in the app and by email before important changes to these terms or our fees take effect, unless a change is urgently needed for safety or to follow the law. If you don't agree with a change, you can close your account before it starts.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
15. General
- If ACQRD moves to a company or a new owner: we may transfer these terms, your account, and our rights and obligations to a company set up to run ACQRD (for example, an ACQRD Pty Ltd) or to a new owner of the ACQRD business. We'll tell you in the app and by email at least 30 days before. The transfer won't reduce your rights under these terms, and if you don't want to continue, you can close your account. You can't transfer your account or these terms to anyone else.
- Notices: we send official notices to your account email and in the app. You can send notices to support@acqrd.com.au.
- If a court decides part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don't act on a breach straight away, we can still act on it, or on a later breach, afterwards.
